Knitty's Boogie Vest

I love this vest! I am really happy how well it turned out. Although it wasn't hard at all, the knitting was a bit monotonous. The only problem I have is that, due to the nature of stockinette stitch, the armholes tend to curl in a bit even after blocking with heat...perhaps I should try wet blocking. The vest is made of 8 skeins of Knitpicks' wool yarn in Mulled Wine color. I am tempted to make another one in cotton as a tanktop for summer since it looks quite good worn alone....will post a pic of that later.

Sorry if my expression looks a bit weird (as I always do in my knitting pictures!)...it was about 1:45 am so I was tired and excited at the same time. Guess what I'm wearing to school today ;P

I just bought The Last Minute Knitted Gifts book, and I LOVE it! Although I am aware that there is an errata page dedicated to this book, many errors have been corrected by the 2nd and 3rd printing which is what I have. I also checked the book to the errata webpage just to make sure and everything checked out A-okay! So for those of you who are hesitant due to this reason, you are now free to purchase! And for those of you who are hesitatant due to a tight wallet....I CAN relate, believe me! I got it for 40% off from Joann's since I had a coupon so it was very cool.

I can't wait to work on the hourglass sweater featured so beautifully in Craftster.org. Yet at the same time, I am STILL working on a vest.....it seems to be one of those projects that will never be completed. ~sigh~....I wish I have magic fingers.

I have been busy with school and knitting but too lazy posting :P Well, here are some of things I have knitted lately. Enjoy and thanks for looking. I am so inspired by Craftster.org and all you generous souls for sharing patterns so freely. Special thanks to julsey723 and LeSophie for your generosity in sharing your patterns with me (and everyone) that are featured in this post. My thanks are way overdue!

This is LeSophie's version of Glampyre's Ubernatural. If it wasn't for LeSophie's explanations of the pattern, I would have been very lost. I also made the neckline smaller and made the sleeves 3/4 length. I used Lion Brand's Homespun. I used only 1 stand because I didn't want it to be too bulky.

This is one of my favorite sweaters. It took forever, but I am glad I made it. This is Tempting from Knitty.com. I used Caron's soft acrylic yarn. It is very comfortable.

This was a costly one. This top is very Rowan's Summer collectipn book and Rowan's cotton and braids yarn. Too expensive for my student budget....good thing the book and yarn were a gift from my fiance for my birthday. :)

Last and definitely not least, a sleeveless turtleneck from a book I got from Joann's. I used Lion's brand thick and quick Lumberjack red to make it. I likey.

This is the first ever felted clutch purse I have made. It took me about 5 hrs, and I really enjoyed making it!

I felted the purse in the sink with hot water and some detergent. It turned out pretty well even though the picture looks a bit fuzzy.

It even has a lining and a zipper! I am happy how it turned out.
